The Snowlife Team

Your ski chalet hosts…

Simon and Lisa have lived and skied in La Clusaz for over twenty years, during which time they have fallen head over heels in love with the French Alps (La Clusaz and the Aravis region in particular!). They have two children Molly age 9 and Jack age 5 who also love the snow and both of them ski in the local ski teams and go to the village school.

Fifteen years ago saw them entering the shell of a building that would become, after a full renovation and refit; the 30 bed luxury, catered, Chalet Le Panoramic. Renowned and truly-on-the-piste chalet offering superb family accommodation with hot tub, excellent cuisine and all the trimmings you’d expect when picturing the ideal mountain ski holiday experience.

With so much hospitality experience under their belt Simon and Lisa know exactly how to run a successful ski chalet and provide their clients with an unbeatable family ski holiday that is seriously fun and totally stress free!

Whether you are arriving for the first time or “coming home”, you can rest assured Simon, Lisa and their team are dedicated to doing all the hard work for you, providing a personal service that is second to none!

Andrew: “Skiing in La Clusaz is unforgettable….back for a second season”

In 2007 Andrew spent three months in Whistler learning to become a snowboard instructor, an experience he dearly enjoyed. After leaving Canada he migrated to Club Vass in Greece to work as a waiter at the magnificent windsurf resort during which time he developed a passion for freestyle.

Working at Vass gave him the perfect opportunity to surf alongside professional windsurfers from who he gained much experience. The season ended but Andrews passion didn’t, so he went to Dahab for two months to learn more freestyle manoeuvres on the beautiful flat waters. That covered winter nicely so he could get back to Vass again!!

This time he became the restaurant supervisor and took out time to train as a Windsurf Instructor.

During this season Andrew met Dani and they have shared a love of windsurfing and gallivanting ever since!!

The guys met Simon, Lisa and the kids in Vass, hit it off, one thing has lead to another and now they are both really looking forward to their second season in a fantastic chalet in a fantastic resort.

Dani: “Welcome to the luxury chalet le panoramic!”

Having graduated in 2008 from Glamorgan University where she studied Architectural Technology (A subject she is still very interested in). Dani wanted to do something completely different, she decided to train as a water sports instructor and so found her self in Vassiliki where she spent three months becoming a windsurf and dingy sailing instructor (and also gained un-unhealthy obsession with mountain biking and some Scotish guy call Andrew!) Summer ended and Dani found herself back in Wales where she loves to mountain bike and windsurf, during this time she qualified as a MIAS Level 2 mountain bike Leader and Instructor.

She then moved to Scotland with Andrew and worked in a bar and restaurant and went to lots of ceilidh’s! But the sun and sea was calling, so off they went to Dahab where she instructed windsurfing.

Returning to Vassiliki for the summer Dani guided mountain bikes and maintained her love of windsurfing.

Dani has also skied in Canada and can’t wait to hit La Clusaz for another season!

Alice: “La Clusaz’ ski resort authenticity is the key”

Having run pubs in Brighton for some time Alice decided it was time for a change. So, 3 years ago she and Richard left the whirl of city life and made their way to France for a little more peace and quiet. However, after the disappointment of losing the dream cottage to renovate the pair had to think fast if to be able to continue their French adventure. “How about a ski season?” Alice wondered! Well, this idle thought was in 2006! ~ Since then the pair have become close friends with Simon, Lisa and the kids and have fallen in love with the beautiful surroundings of La Clusaz…and of course the snow!

During their time here they have been able to regain their dream and have found themselves a small home in the area. And are settling in quite nicely!!

Having spent much of her childhood living in France she has grown to love the way of life and more so the food! She has recently fulfilled her ambition to complete a Divemaster scuba internship in Thailand were she swam with turtles, visited wrecks, became involved with a reef welfare organisation and enjoyed all the other incredible experiences of the deep almost every day for 3 months!

But for now Alice is quite happy to settle in La Clusaz on a more permanent basis as she fancies being spoilt with the glorious Alpine summers as well as the winters!!

She is thrilled to be back on-board for winter 09/10

Richard: “Luxury family chalet, superb pistes, what else?!”

Richard has a great love of the outdoors and thinks that this must surely be why he has found himself living in the Alps, in recent times he has developed an avid interest in renovating and improving the home he and Alice have in La Clusaz, he also likes nothing more than an afternoon walking around the region.

Richard is a keen skier and snowboarder and greatly enjoys the winter season in which he is about to embark on number 4!! He is also a keen scuba diver when the opportunity arises!

Professionally Richard has a strong background in the hospitality trade, he has managed pubs and worked in many restaurants, yet he has a great passion for avant-garde music, literature and his various rambling fine art, illustration and animation projects. Richard has made animated films for various record companies and illustrations for many clients but prefers the non-commissioned projects he makes within a Brighton based film collective.

Richard primary passion is for Alice’s cake making.
