The neighbouring ski resort of Le Grand Bornand is only 10 minutes on the local ski bus (free of charge with card provided by Snowlife). Here you can ski another 39 lifts and enjoy plenty of wide-open runs with consistently good snow conditions.

La Clusaz village is situated at 1100m/3608ft, however the skiing extends at its highest point to 2600m/8530ft at the top of La Balme.  La Clusaz has invested vast amounts of money in snowmaking machines (103 snow canons) which cover all of the lower slopes in and around the village.

Most of the slopes face North/North East, allowing skiing until May.

Skiing, snowboarding, cross-country, sledging and many many more activities are all catered for in La Clusaz.

The slopes are extensive and suitable for all levels of skiers/boarders with 54 lifts and 130km of piste consisting of 7 black runs, 23 red runs, 28 blue runs, 27 green runs and off piste galore.

It is possible to complete a tour of all the massifs in a day, stopping for lunch in one of the many cosy, renowned mountain restaurants.

Ski lessons with the ‘Ecole de Ski International’

We have worked with the ESI since 1996 and our clients are always delighted with the results! We recommend that you complete the ski lesson form as soon as you book your holiday so that we can request an instructor either for a one-to-one lesson or, if you would prefer, a group lesson. Lisa tries to ensure that all group lessons are appropriately matched for your ability and age with other guests from the chalet. All the instructors speak English or try to! The meeting place for your lessons and the instructors name will be given to you on your arrival at the chalet.

Private lessons are for two hours, starting at 0900, 1115 and 1400 and the prices are as follows:

1 or 2 people €70  (low season) and €85 (high season) for 2 hours.  For each additional person add €10.

If you would like to hire a private instructor for a day or for half a day …you can!

4 hours (8 people max) the cost is €175 low season and €200 high season  and for the whole day the cost is €305 low season and €350 high season.

HIGH SEASON ONLY ~ Xmas, New Year and 7th Feb ~ 7th March

For children from 4 years old there are three groups that take place on Beauregard mountain  (6 children max.). This runs from Sunday to Friday from 11.00 – 13.00 and costs €140 per child.

For older children  (Crystal – Crystal Diamant) there is ski school (max. 8)  from Sun – Fri  – 11.00 – 13.00 -  6 X 2 hours costs €130

Also there is ski school for in the afternoons for all levels from Cristal to Diamant – 10 max -  Sun – Fri ( 1.30 – 4.30pm)  and this costs €180.

Snowboard school – Free-Ride (10 max.) and Group lessons for beginners – Int (max. 6),  Sun-Fri (1.30 – 4.30pm) and this costs €180.

LOW SEASON – BEGINNING OF JAN – BEGINNING OF FEB AND EARLY MARCH ONWARDS

NEW THIS SEASON THERE IS SKI SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN FROM 11.00 -13.00 MON – FRIDAY

for beginners through to Cristal bronze (6-8 Max.) and the cost is €110 for 5*2 hours.

We recommend that you book lessons for 11:00am on the Sunday of your holiday so that you have time to arrange your ski hire etc. and then 0900 for the rest of the week if you wish.

Snowpark

Adapted to the practice of freestyle, the snowpark offers a maximum of safety and pleasure.

More varied and more spaced out, magnificent sequences of movements of springboards and rails are available.

The snowpark is composed of 3 big sections, with a slope style with rails accessible to all levels, 2 world cup standard big airs and at the bottom a great one pipe of 80m! This project was conceived to run in maximum!

The variety of modules gives some dynamism and a choice of courses varied for beginners and accomplished enthusiasts.

New elements: Flat 5 form in snow for 5 kickers of different sizes; 8 rails of different sizes and forms; 1 super pipe of 80m of length; 2 big airs: 15m in length and 4m in height.

Ski hire at Sport Boutique

Sport Boutique ski shop is in the centre of the village and has superb equipment. Our clients are entitled to a 25% discount. We will return all your equipment for you at the end of the week, you just need to pop in before you leave and pay (credit cards accepted).

Ski Passes

A photo is required for passes of five days or more and if you complete our ski pass form and send it with your holiday balance your passes will be waiting for you on your arrival.

Aravis Ski Pass

This is a great way to ski at both La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand giving you access to more than 120 miles of pistes! A free half-hourly bus service connects the resorts (10 minutes)

Free Skiing

Children under 5 years old and senior citizens 75 years old and over have the advantage of ski for free! Proof of age must be provided at the ticket office.

Night Skiing

This is available on Thursday evenings from 8.00pm till 10.00pm on the piste outside the chalet.

Full Moon Skiing

The ultimate event for night owl skiers who can spend the evening carving turns by the light of the full moon. Special evenings, DJ, events… a guaranteed magical atmosphere under the light of the moon.

Ski Insurance

We regret that Snowlife does not provide insurance cover for our guests but we heartedly recommend Fogg Travel who we have used over the past 10 years. Fogg Travel insurance includes the Fogg Travel Medi-card which is recognised in the resort by the rescue and ambulance services, doctors etc. and you can book insurance direct by clicking here.
