Why is ’ski to the door’ so important?

You are not tied to leaving a chalet in the morning at a set time to take courtesy transport and when you have finished skiing you do not have to wait for others who are late. No queuing for a ski bus to get to the slopes in the morning and no long walks. It’s skis off and straight to a comfy sofa for afternoon tea or a well earned drink at the bar or in the hot tub!

How much snow is there?

La Clusaz village is at 1100m but the skiing goes up to 2600m and the village has a superb snow record.  Most of the slopes face North/North East so the pistes keep the snow much longer then other ski resorts like Meribel that are at a similar height but face South.  The mountain of La Blame is a huge mountain and is loved by skiers and boarders and is open every season until the 1st may!  The slope down to the chalet is snow cannoned so skiing to the chalet door is always possible!

How close to the piste and La Clusaz is the chalet?

Our family chalet is situated on the main piste down to the village and yes that means ski in ski out!

If you wish to pop down to the village of La Clusaz to do some shopping it is only a 5 minute walk!

 

 

 

 

 

How do I go about booking ski lessons?

We are more than happy to organize your lessons for you. Snowlife has used the local International Ski School for the past 15 years and they pride themselves on their English, their small group lessons and the luxury of your meeting place being on the piste outside the chalet!

Is the chalet good for beginners?

Yes! Chalet Le Panoramic is perfect ~ there is a nursery slope just below our family chalet but if you would rather learn higher up at 1800m then there is the wonderful mountain of Beauregard – perfect for beginner’s  as it is a plateau. Usually after day two you can ski to the bottom of the Beauregard lift in the mornings but until then we will drive you to it at the beginning of the day!

 

 

 

 

 

What should I bring to the chalet?

Swimming costumes and towels for the hot tub and a spirit bottle contribution for the bar!

 

 

 

 

 

Where do we go for ski-hire?

We have been using the same shop for 15 years…..Sport Boutique. They offer high quality equipment with 25% discount and priority service for Chalet le Panoramic guests. We will also run you down to the shop to get you fitted out and return your skis for you at the end of the week!

How many does the chalet sleep?

The chalet has 30 beds which is quite often filled with a mixture of adults and children. If it is an adult only group then 22 adults is a great number.

 

 

 

  

If we ski on the last day can we leave our luggage somewhere?

Yes of course! We will keep valuables in the chalet and store the luggage in the boot-room for you. Unfortunately as the chalet is usually full each week then we cannot offer you a bathroom for after skiing but obviously if we do have one free then we will!

 

 

 

 

 

Do you collect us from the airport and which airport should we fly into?

Transfers to and from Geneva are included in the price. If you do need to fly into another airport then please contact us here and we will get a quote for you from a local taxi service!
